About our Frisee Endive
Frisee endive, also known as curly endive or chicory, is a type of leafy green vegetable that belongs to the same family as the common endive. It has a distinctive frizzy or curly appearance, with long, slender leaves that are pale green with white tips.
Frisee endive has a slightly bitter and nutty taste, and is often used in salads to add texture and flavor. It is also used in cooked dishes, such as soups and stews, and can be sautéed or braised as a side dish.
Frisee endive is a nutrient-dense vegetable that is low in calories and high in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate and potassium. It is also a good source of dietary fibre and antioxidants and you can store it in the refrigerator in a plastic bag or container for up to one week.
About the Farmer
We always try to get our fresh produce from local farmers, and by using those smaller scale, non-contract farms, it results in a better quality of products for our customers. If we have to adapt to the changing market conditions, we always ensure we use the regional farm network, pick the best quality produce and ensure a fair price is paid through the supply chain to support the British farming community.
