The jury is definitely out on whether Pineapple belongs on pizza, though we do know it belongs in your fruit bowl! These large, juicy and fragrant tropical fruits are actually a collection of multiple diamond shaped fruits which are the unpollinated flowers fusing together, this gives them their unique appearance.

Rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and manganese whilst being incredibly sweet, fresh sliced Pineapple is a delicious way to get some goodness in you. While the naturally high sugar content gives a really intense, sweet, flavour, Pineapples are best prepared and eaten sooner rather than later, or you can run the risk of the fruit fermenting in your fruit bowl due to the reaction between the sugar and naturally occurring yeast on the fruit’s skin. Chop up and place in an airtight container in the fridge to keep fresh for a few days!
