Satsumas
Extended Product Information
About our Satsumas
A type of Mandarin originally from China (the clue is in the name), Satsumas are typically available through the winter months where they are now cultivated in Spain for the European market. Looser skinned than Clementines, they are usually seedless and have a tender flesh that is slightly less sweet but very juicy.
Their easy peeling nature and tasty citrus flavour makes them a firm family favourite. Also available late spring and summer time where they are grown and imported from Peru in South America.
About the Farmer
We always try to get our fresh produce from local farmers, and by using those smaller scale, non-contract farms, it results in a better quality of products for our customers. If we have to adapt to the changing market conditions, we always ensure we use the regional farm network, pick the best quality produce and ensure a fair price is paid through the supply chain to support the British farming community.
