Probably the largest cultivated fruit you can buy, there really isn’t anything quite like a fresh slice of Watermelon on a hot summer’s day! Though not as intense in flavour as other melons, the flesh of Watermelon is still incredibly sweet, crisp and irresistibly juicy – a definite customer favourite.

Best value through the European summer months when imported from Spain, but still available all year round from Brazil, a ripe Watermelon will feel heavy for it’s size and hollow when tapped. Ideally kept in the fridge to keep fresh, make sure you cover any prepared fruit with clingfilm to avoid it drying out.
