About our Leeks

Leeks are a type of vegetable related to onions, garlic, and shallots. They have long, slender, green leaves that grow out of a white, cylindrical stem. Leeks have a mild, sweet flavor and a slightly crunchy texture, making them a versatile ingredient in many dishes.

Leeks are an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate and potassium. They are also low in calories and high in fibre, making them a great addition to a meal, especially if you’re looking to get more veg into kids without an overpowering flavour!

All our leeks are of the highest quality and are firm and have bright green leaves. To prepare leeks, trim off the roots and the dark green leaves, then cut the remaining white and light green part into thin slices.

About the Farmer

We always try to get our fresh produce from local farmers, and by using those smaller scale, non-contract farms, it results in a better quality of products for our customers. If we have to adapt to the changing market conditions, we always ensure we use the regional farm network, pick the best quality produce and ensure a fair price is paid through the supply chain to support the British farming community.
